Flashing Badge
Can a retired officer flash their badge and portray themselves as a working officer?
Extra details :I was in the drive-thru and a man in civilian clothes came up to my window yelling at me saying that I just hit a bicyclist and he called the police reporting me for a hit and run. I had no idea what he was talking about and he told me to get out of the drive-thru. I pulled out of the drive-thru and he yelled at me to get out of the car. I told him that I didn’t hit anyone and then he flashes his badge at me. He didn’t state he was an officer, just flashed it and said “yeah”. I started crying because I had no idea what I did and he told me I had to go back to the scene and fix what I had done and that he would be following me there and that I better not try and run. I went back to the scene, freaked out thinking I somehow hit someone, didn’t know and am now being charge with a hit and run and the witness is a cop. Back at the scene the victim confirmed I was not the one who hit him and that my car looked nothing like the one that did. Another witness got the actual car.
get his lic number, he is retired and had no right or power to do what he did, next time call 911 and report a freak with a fake badge threatening you.
