Cobalt is quicker and less expensive to use when forging the bond between tungsten powder and carbide powders.  But when you look at the effect it may have on our bodies, is the savings worth it?  In addition, tungsten rings with cobalt binders tend to develop “spots” a few months after being worn.  And these spots on the ring are near impossible to remove.  Therefore when you choose your band, make sure to ask if it is cobalt free and you will be much more satisfied in the long run.
