Does anyone have memories of attending street parties in the 1930s e.g. George V’s Jubilee in 1935?
I’m a freelance journalist who writes for the nationals. I’m looking for people with memories of 1930s street parties held in Britain.
It’s for a feature I’m writing, to coincide with the Royal Wedding in April, that looks at street parties – the effect they have on communities, and their history.
If you can recall attending a street party in 1935 (George V’s Jubilee) or 1937 (George VI’s coronation), please get in touch as soon as possible!
